Founded by Kun and Yao, a dynamic duo hailing from South China, 1993 specialises in crafting interactive digital experiences for businesses looking to elevate their brands.

Our story begins in high school, where we bonded over our mutual love of art, sketchbooks and oil pastels. We've honed our skills over the years to create interactive experiences that captivate audiences worldwide.

In 2024, we decided to take a leap of faith and bridge the gap between our physical locations, Switzerland and New Zealand, starting our own design and innovation studio, 1993 Design Associates.

Yao Liu

As an interaction designer, I am passionate about how people as complex organisms interact with every element of their surroundings naturally, as well as exploring the better possibilities of human-machine relationships.

I am committed to incorporating historical, political, and social factors into my designs. How can we break out of the existing frameworks and the boundaries of interaction design in order to reveal the complicated and intertwined reality? This is an area that I am intrigued by and strive to contribute to.

I am a senior Webflow developer, deeply passionate about web motion and interaction. Through the years, I've not only mastered website creation but also excelled in turning them into immersive digital storytelling experiences. My true passion lies in transforming plain, traditional websites into captivating journeys.
